I was able to get some viewership numbers for the Brier final weekend:
The tiebreaker between Quebec and Manitoba: 271,000
The 1 vs. 2 game between Ontario and Alberta: 587,000 (1,000 more than the game between the same teams the night before)
The Brier final (drum roll please): 873,000
Interesting to note that the Scotties final outdrew the Brier final.
That's probably because the men's final was a masacre. Who wants to watch such a lopsided final.
ReplyDeleteThe Scotties outdrew the Brier final despite the incredible bias in the curling media towards the mens event. One small example: blog posts made by Bob Weeks about the Brier during the Season of Champions - more than 10. Posts made about the Scotties? Zero.
ReplyDeleteGood job girls.
